A WEEK IN THE WILD OF NORWAY

6th-13th August, 2018

Oppdal, Norway

Come on a botanical adventure with me in my ancestral land of Norway.

About The Retreat

Spend a week in the middle part of Norway taking roadtrips to the coast, hikes into the mountains and forays into the forest where I will teach you about the abundance of plants and mushrooms in the Scandinavian ecosystem.

This is a week long apprenticeship with me as well as a co-creation with you – and a deep-dive into exploring the medicine woman of the wild.

We will be studying herbs and plants, edible and medicinal mushrooms, and we will be picking wild berries and wild foods of many kinds. This is a deep and personal immersion where we share the space with each other, cook meals together, and gather with the plants in communion.

We will be staying in cabins and houses with all amenities as well as more rustic and charming cabins, we may have to chop wood and carry water, convene by candlelight at night, and tend to the fireplace.

Part of this adventure is also experiencing the stunning nature of Norway. We will visit the coast and see where the glaciers once carved narrow valleys and deep fjords. We will go to the high mountains where the tallest trees are alpine birches at three feet, where the lichen grow on rocks and Rhodiola flowers pop out of cracks.

We will be spending our week in and around Trondheim, in Oppdal and in Sunndal and surrounding valleys.
